We spent last week on a family tour of southern college towns. We went from Sarasota to Winter Park to see Rollins College. Winter Park is a very nice, very upscale town. The College is on a nice lake with the main street in Winter Park leading right into the campus.

Then on to St Augustine and Flagler College. It is an old hotel that was built by someone that didn't need to cut corners. It is an awesome building.

We drove up I-95 to Savannah GA. My favorite city on the tour. It is a great town to visit the squares, the river front and the historical buildings make for a great town. We visited Savannah College of Art and Design -- that campus is spread out in the historical part of the downtown - they are a major force in rehabbing many of the old buildings.

Then a long drive to Durham NC to visit Duke. The town didn't offer much but the Duke Campus is awesome...

Then another long drive to Buckhead / Atlanta for some serious shopping and a visit to Emory. Another nice campus in a "real" city ...

You have to be a smart kid to get into any of these schools... I didn't have the grades for it...
